Thai restaurant

Chopsticks Noodle Bar is a popular thai restaurant with a lovely ambience and delicious food. The menu includes the best of Asian cuisine and their specialty, Ladakhi food! Their signature dish is the Momos, which are unique and delicious. TripAdvisor reviewers recommend the place highly and it's a popular spot for travellers to have dinner.

The restaurant is located upstairs with a cozy staircase. Menu with diverse Asian dishes, moderate taste, suitable for experimenting with varied dishes while in Leh. Reasonable price, beautiful decorated space

Tucked on fort road close to Leh market , off the main road, up a trail next to rapid stream/nullah is this very lovely restaurant , serving good authentic Chinese grub. It's on the fort road culminating near the leh main market . One has to climb up the stairs to reach(difficult for oldies and arthritics). It has both inside and open terrace seating. Plays good soft English numbers. The Food is good , tasty and served very clean. Thw ambience on the terrace in the evenings is really cool. The momos , the thukpas, the Schezwan chicken noodles , veg Hakka noodles are real good. The flavours original , oil is controlled and the helpings healthy. For a sumptuous dinner it doesn't tax the pocket either. Costs around 1200-1400 for three .

Debashish M — Google review

Food was good, ordered Thupka and Katsu curry, & 1co*ck. costs us 770. Location was also ok and sitting space was good. But they are asking for service charges and the co*ke they served it was 90rs. Print rate was 30rs. On thire menu it was written 70rs, but the hotel guy said "We have served you on bottle so it's 90 and 1glass co*ke is 70". Just a way of making fool of customers. Personally I will not recommend this hotel to my family members. There are other good options available in Leh Market.

We’ve been here twice now and we love it! Staff is excellent and every dish we’ve had has been delicious!

Didn’t eat much, tried their chicken pepper wok and liked it. The place was packed so am sure the food is good across their menu.

Sandeep M — Google review

Food and place were good and tasty. Different Atmosphere. Very clean. Thai cuisine.

Sharveen P — Google review

Cozy place.Menu is so diversity from all around Asia, I stopped here for Thukpa and Momo both is good.

Thuy T — Google review

Amazing restaurant for some authentic Asian cuisine. Fast service with good food. Great taste with adequate quantity.

Saiel K — Google review

Nice place with laid back outdoor seating and a chilled out ambience.. The momos and fresh spring rolls were really good but the soup was quite oily! We ordered Veg Pad Thai which was quite disappointing. We also couldn't have beer as it was just before election time.

Vishal N — Google review

This is one of my most favourite restaurants now. I will make sure to visit this place whenever I visit Leh. Can't recommend a single dish, whatever I had was delicious. Please try all of their signature dishes and ask the server for recommendations.

Wasim A — Google review

Overall the food was edible but not anywhere close to authentic Thai food. The rice was a little hard that seems like overnight rice. They gave reasonable amount of chicken pieces. Maybe the local food may be better but we went with food items that had chef recommendation. Service however was great. The place has a stunning view of the mountains.

L — Google review

Average at best. I don’t understand the hype around this restaurant.Pros:Service was niceCons:Food is not that tasty.Ginger tea was not using fresh ginger.Spring rolls were not fresh and were reheated. My two main meals were blended in the toast and I had to add a lot of soy sauce to make it “eatable”One meal wasn’t big enough and had to buy 2.I don’t recommend this place.

Noam N — Google review

The creatively named Chopsticks Noodle Bar, serves a lot more than noodles. It's Leh's truly best East Asian cuisine restaurant, with an eclectic range of much loved Japanese, Thai, Chinese and Tibetan dishes. The decor though minimal has real cut table flowers, oversized Japanese fans, an umbrella and a Thai Buddha statue at the entrance. The indoor dining area has wooden tables with cushioned benches, which could be a bit hard on those with back issues. Fear not, there's a huge outdoor terrace dining area under bright pink tents, which has platform seating with cushions around low tables, perfect for those who want to dine and relax for a longer time. The menu has favourites such as teriyaki chicken and Thai curries. Rather typical when faced with abundant choice, I decided to stick to what I thought was familiar - Thai Green Curry Fried Rice. That was the first disappointment, coz it was just fried rice, not a green curry with rice as an accompaniment. The second disappointment was, there was nothing Thai about it. The quantity for the price - USD 2.75 - wasn't substantial either, and the dish was a bit thin on the chicken. Anyway, I spiced up the rice with red chilly sauce, white chilly sauce, and Thai soy sauce, and decided to use this disappointment to try out my chopstick skills. Yes, they've chopsticks, which is a real plus. There's something magical about slow eating with chopsticks, coz I enjoyed my lunch thereafter. The indoor dining area was full with a global clientele. There was a large Thai group on my left and an equally sizeable Israeli group on my right. The Chopsticks is certainly a very popular restaurant.

Saurabh — Google review

This place has a very nice ambience! Great place to chill with family and friends. The food and hospitality just adds to it. This place has the option to sit outside as well as inside! Do try the Thukpa... you would get the authentic feel of Ladhak!

PIYUSH P — Google review

I came to try the food here as my friend’s recommendation, but i don’t think it is that delicious.Good points: variety of dishes for your choice; nice & friendly staff; good vibe aroundNot so good points: portion is quite small that makes me feel it is over priced; the taste is so so.

Bon Appetit is a popular restaurant in Leh that offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains and a relaxed atmosphere. The food is delicious and varied, and the service is attentive and friendly. The restaurant is open during the summer only, so make sure to visit if you're in Ladakh during that time!

Place with good food and view. Both the chicken items were yum, however the best part was the juice which we had ordered along side, my favourite is hands down seathorn juice.Would definitely love to visit it again just for their amazing view.

Prateek S — Google review

A beautiful open air restaurant having unbelievable mountain views. The food is good especially the pizzas and starters, the main course we tried wasn't as good as the starters. You do get beers here which is a good thing as there is shortage of alcohol in leh. Overall a restaurant worth visiting.

Kiran G — Google review

Best restaurant in Leh!!!:) We really enjoyed our time here at the Bon Appetit Restaurant. The food was soo flavorful and tasty and beautiful atmosphere

Mads — Google review

One of the best off the beat chill vibe cafe in leh. Location is tricky but just walkable distance from mall Road. Ambience is awesome, food is good but little expensive. Better to go at evening by 5:30 PM.

Ridha P — Google review

Overall I recommend this restaurant. It’s definitely on the expensive side, but you do get great food and very nice view of the Himalaya mountains. I recommend to get there at 6pm to enjoy the view as much as possible

Very good restaurant, service friendly, best tasty food. For groups also it’s good to hangout. Menu is best.Must visit restaurants in Leh

Shiva H — Google review

Perfect place for a good dinner in Leh. Very good food and cozy atmosphere.

Cinta R — Google review

Good food and great ambience. Nested amidst no where, this place gives you a true "in the mountains" feel. We tried 2 types of Pizzas. Both were tasty and cooked well. Place is decorated nicely and a lot of natural light seeps in making the place feel more welcoming. Washrooms were clean as well. Overall a must visit when in Leh

Kavita D — Google review

Loved the place. The ambience is great. We ordered the naan with 3 dips as an appetizer which was yum, the cashew encrusted chicken with potatoes was really very good along with the coriander pesto pasta which I tried for the 1st time and loved. Must try the pinacitta was so fresh and melted in my mouth.

Ashwati S — Google review

This is supposed to be a pesto pasta? Really?I also ordered grilled chicken and to my surprise it was with bone and no herbs, where it said it's herb chicken. Very very disappointing. Staff is decent, service is decent, but you cannot visit this place for authentic food. They are just running.

Rahul K — Google review

Bon Appetit was a delightful experience. The place is a little hard to find and you can only walk to it, so park your vehicles outside. The comfortable ambience and delicious food makes for a perfect evening. I would recommend the Chicken Katzu and Pizzas. In desserts we had Apricot Cream, which we ended up repeating thrice. Sea buckthorn juice can be found everywhere in Leh. The one by Sindhu Fruit Processing is the superior one, avoid the one by Jimpo.

Parsa's Kargil is a top-notch café located in the town, situated along the road to Leh and right in front of the magnificent Suru. It serves as an ideal pit stop for bikers and offers an array of delicious rolls and biryani, which are considered the finest in the state. The establishment prides itself on its cozy and innovative interiors, with ample reading materials available for patrons. Additionally, Parsa's Kargil promises a vibrant calendar of cultural events.

Ordered Lachha Paratha, Butter paneer, mutton korma and fish fingers. Everything was amazing except fish finger which I felt had too much coating. The combination of lacha Paratha and panner was the best . What added to the taste was having the river view while having lunch.

A public eating establishment similar to a restaurant is mentioned in a 512 BC record fromAncient Egypt. The establishment served only one dish, a plate of cereal, wild fowl, and onions.[5]A forerunner of the modern restaurant is thethermopolium, an establishment inAncient GreeceandAncient Romethat sold and served ready-to-eatfoodandbeverages. These establishments were somewhat comparable to modernfast foodrestaurants. They were most often frequented by people who lacked private kitchens. In the Roman Empire they were popular among residents ofinsulae.[6]InPompeii, 158 thermopolia with service counters have been identified throughout the town. They were concentrated along the main axis of the town and the public spaces where they were frequented by the locals.[7]The Romans also had thepopina, awine barwhich in addition to a variety of wines offered a limited selection of simple foods such as olives, bread, cheese, stews, sausage, and porridge. The popinae were known as places for the plebeians of the lower classes of Roman society to socialize. While some were confined to one standing room only, others had tables and stools and a few even had couches.[8][9]Another early forerunner of the restaurant was theinn. Throughout the ancient world, inns were set up alongside roads to cater to people traveling between cities, offering lodging and food. Meals were typically served at a common table to guests. However, there were no menus or options to choose from.[10]TheArthashastrareferences establishments where prepared food was sold in ancientIndia. One regulation states that "those who trade in cooked rice, liquor, and flesh" are to live in the south of the city. Another states that superintendents of storehouses may give surpluses of bran and flour to "those who prepare cooked rice, and rice-cakes", while a regulation involving city superintendents references "sellers of cooked flesh and cooked rice."[11]Early eating establishments recognizable as restaurants in the modern sense emerged inSong dynastyChina during the 11th and 12th centuries. In large cities, such asKaifengandHangzhou, foodcateringestablishments catered to merchants who travelled between cities. Probably growing out oftea housesand taverns which catered to travellers, Kaifeng's restaurants blossomed into an industry that catered to locals as well as people from other regions of China. As travelling merchants were not used to local cuisine of other cities, these establishments were set up to serve dishes familiar to merchants from other parts of China. Such establishments were located in the entertainment districts of major cities, alongside hotels, bars, and brothels. The larger and more opulent of these establishments offered a dining experience that was similar to modern restaurant culture. According to a Chinese manuscript from 1126, patrons of one such establishment were greeted with a selection of pre-plated demonstration dishes which represented food options. Customers had their orders taken by a team of waiters who would then sing their orders to the kitchen and distribute the dishes in the exact order in which they had been ordered.

The best cafe in the town. On the road to leh, just in front of the mighty Suru. A nice stop over for biker brotherhood. Best rolls and biryani in the state. The interiors are very cozy and creative. You will find books to read. And it is promising a lot of cultural events. The host is very generous and courteous. And so is the staff.

Parsa's Restaurant, KargilDuring my recent visit to Kargil, I had the pleasure of dining at Parsa's Restaurant, and I must say, it was a truly delightful experience. From the inviting ambiance to the delectable food, this restaurant left a lasting impression on me.First and foremost, the atmosphere at Parsa's Restaurant was warm and inviting. The tasteful decor, soothing lighting, and comfortable seating arrangements created a cozy and pleasant dining environment. The restaurant had a welcoming vibe, making it an ideal place to relax and enjoy a meal with friends or family. The menu at Parsa's Restaurant boasted a wide variety of dishes, catering to different tastes and preferences. Whether you are a fan of Indian cuisine or crave international flavors, there was something for everyone. The restaurant specialized in local Kashmiri dishes, and I must say, their preparations were outstanding. The flavors were authentic, and the use of traditional spices and ingredients added a unique touch to each dish. The presentation was also top-notch, showcasing the chef's attention to detail. The staff at Parsa's Restaurant were attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. They were always ready to assist and provide recommendations based on personal preferences. The service was prompt, and the staff ensured that all our needs were met throughout the dining experience. Their hospitality added to the overall satisfaction of the meal. One of the standout dishes at Parsa's Restaurant was the Rogan Josh, a Kashmiri lamb curry. The meat was tender and flavorful, and the spices were perfectly balanced. Another highlight was the Gushtaba, a traditional Kashmiri meatball curry. The meatballs were melt-in-your-mouth tender and immersed in a rich and creamy gravy. The restaurant also offered vegetarian options, such as the Dum Aloo and Kashmiri Pulao, which were equally delicious and well-prepared.In terms of value for money, Parsa's Restaurant offered reasonable prices for the quality and portion sizes of the dishes. The servings were generous, ensuring that guests left satisfied and content.Overall, I highly recommend Parsa's Restaurant for anyone visiting Kargil. Whether you are a fan of Kashmiri cuisine or simply seeking a memorable dining experience, this restaurant will not disappoint. The combination of delectable food, pleasant ambiance, and attentive service makes it a standout choice in the area. I would gladly revisit Parsa's Restaurant the next time I find myself in Kargil.

It's a lovely restaurant with a great view of Suru River in Kargil. We went there for dinner after strolling along the walkway in the Tourism Facilitation Center compound (which was also gorgeous!).The food was decent but not great. We tried Ladakhi food here - chicken thukpa and mutton thenthuk. The meat was a little dry and not juicy but the soups tasted quite good. The service was also very nice. Best cafe in Kargil to have Mutton kebab with Kahawa, this was the owners recommendation. The restaurant provides delicious meals, including local dishes upon request. Especially noteworthy is the owner, Mr Ali, who is respectful and knowledgeable about the district of Kargil. He gladly assists with planning local visits and engages in interesting conversations about history and current affairs.

A good resort in Kargil with beautiful views.1. Clean cottage with all modern amenities. 2. The courtyard has beautiful Sunflower garden.3. Breakfast and Dinner were outstanding. Veg and Non-Veg both were simple yet tasty.4. Outdoor seating in balcony and watching starts with clear sky is unforgettable.5. Staffs were very courteous and helpful.I would suggest everyone this property to consider for your stay.

MUST STAY in Kargil !!It was a great stay. Magnificent place, spent a spectacular time of my life while being at this resort. Pleasant environment among the raised mountains. If you’re visiting Kargil or surrounding, you can undoubtedly think of this place to stay.

A very comfortable stay. The staff were helpful and very good in their services. The restaurant is good as well. We were happy that the chef readily prepared some local food items that we asked for. Most of all, we found the owner Mr Ali a very reverential person who helped us plan our local visits. We found him to be a very articulate and knowledgeable person and it was a delight to chat with him about the history and current affairs of the district of kargil. I am happy to recommend this place with enthusiasm.

One of the best resorts to stay. Although it is little far from the main area but it's quite peaceful with beautiful surroundings, mountain views and great lawn filled with colourful flowers. Food was amazing at this place.

Very nice resort on the outskirts of Kargil town. It has an electric blanket facility which kept us warm through the night 😊. We got a room with a geyser and there was electricity supply throughout the day. So we got hot water. The location was nice and the rooms were good enough for a night's stay.Overall a good resort to spend a night in Kargil and you can visit the Drass war memorial from there...

This was our 2nd stay, and needless to stay we love this place. Truly the one of best places to stay at kargil, beautiful location with great views from all the cottages. The hotel is beautifully maintained. The warmth and care provided by host had really made us feel at home. It was very cold but the staffs made us feel comfortable. The food was delicious, we enjoyed every bite of it.

Cafe -De-Riverside is situated in the heart of Ashana Trespone on the Kargil -Zanskar National Highway. The amazing Resort is just only 16 km away from kargil. I always used to spend my spare time with my life -mate here. The view from the resort is breathtaking. The interior design of the Resort is extra ordinary and each & every room is beautifully decorated along with extra comfortable beds. You get a better hospitality here by which you can just feel at your home. In a nutshell i say that its the outstanding, beautiful, Splendid Resort in Kargil. So guys don't ever miss any chance to visit here... A home away from home..

Cafe

Cafe is on the first floor and has both inside and outside seating space. The interiors are very cozy and bohemian vibe. The food is absolutely fresh and tasty. I would highly recommend you trying their pizza and Mexican wrap along with cold coffee. The service is prompt and the owner and staff are very friendly. Overall a very good place to chill and interact with the locals. The cafe is located in the main market. Very easily accessible from a lot of hotels. I would recommend you park your car in the hussaini park and then walk to the cafe and there is no parking space.

Vibes and ambience were really good, loved it. We had vegetarian pasta which was not in menu and was made especially for us since we requested it. It was very yummy, they had seasoned it well. Fusili pasta with paneer, olives and capsicum was prepared for us. Vegetarian pizza options are available but not much options in other varities. Only suggestion is to add more vegetarian options in the menu.

Ramya S — Google review

Average food, doesn't stand out, home made pizza base but no exception sauce, quite bland. A solid 2 star.

The atmosphere of the cafe is too good and the service is also not bad. We ordered a pizza and a white sauce pasta and the taste of the pizza was delicious but tbh the white sauce pasta was the worst pasta i ever had.
